Two sisters prepare for society.
one punch at a time.
Acclaimed theatre makers Susie Dee, Kate Sherman and Nicci Wilks come together to present Animal, an unflinching examination of violence against women.
In a remote town, two sisters hover on the edge of society. Through heightened physicality and visceral splendour, Animal explores the cycle of violence some are born into and asks the question, how do women respond to a world that celebrates the brutishness of men?
‘Animal is theatre that challenges an audience and makes it uncomfortable. But in doing so, it gives the audience an experience that will resonate for a long time after.’
Weekend Notes.
‘This is such a gutsy challenging work – so worth catching – we will be talking about it for years.’
Stage Whispers
‘Animal is the kind of theatre from which it’s impossible to look away. Balancing harrowing intensity with intricate psychology, nerve-shredding brutality with jet-black humour’
